Great-granddaughter of Henri-Rivier, Mireille Schvartz continues the family tradition. A team of 10 people working in 3 different professions will lovingly craft the little notebook. During this long journey, it will have passed under the careful and rigorous control of a laboratory manager and in 6 different hands, some of which have been in the house for up to 30 years.
It all starts with Styrax officinal: the best benzoin resin, the one secreted by the aliboufier, a tree from Laos. It is delivered in the form of “tears”. According to an immutable ritual, benzoin resin is dissolved in alcohol for several weeks. Then perfume extracts are added. This solution, the composition of which remains secret, impregnates a special blotting-type paper. The operation is carried out manually, sheet by sheet.
